Sasol Chemicals North America said it raised its ethyl acetate price by 8 cents/lb effective May 1.

Eastman Chemical raised US ethyl acetate pricing by 5 cents/lb effective May 1, according to its letter to customers, but since the move followed a previously announced plan to boost prices by 3 cents/lb for the month, the total rise for May is 8 cents/lb.

In addition, Celanese will also raise ethyl acetate prices in Mexico and South America by $175/mt, it said.

US spot ETAC prices have risen $177/mt (8 cents/lb) since January, according to S&P Global Platts data, with the market last assessed at 57.50-58.50 cents/lb ($1,268-1,290/mt) FOB USG on Tuesday.
